Wow! I can't believe it's been over a year since we've posted any news.
Time for an update no doubt:
In the last year, a lot of things have happened. With the band short of a bassist and drummer, things have been relatively quiet on the musical front. However despite this, it has been a hell of a year in terms of video releases with Zima/Winter and Future of Light getting a fantastic reception on YouTube!

In other news, Roman & Vanya will soon be heading into the studio to work on the next album, which as it's looking right now will entirely outdo its predecessor!

Greetings Burlak Fans!
Kicking off 2011 we're pleased to announce that the debut album is now available through all major digital retailers, as well as here at our web store. In other words, for you fans of digital media, you can pick up a copy over at iTunes or your favorite alternative!
What's more, as Burlak fully support the concept of try-before-you-buy, the album will soon start showing up on major streaming services such as Spotify and Grooveshark where available, giving folks the opportunity to enjoy the album in its entirety before making an investment!

2011 in particular will see a lot of exciting announcements from the band as well as shows in support of the debut album. First and foremost however comes the January 3rd debut album release on digital formats! This includes but is by no means limited to services such as iTunes and Rhapsody. THE ALBUM IS COMING! We recently got a truckload of debut album CD's here at Burlak HQ and we're looking forward to the release date, which is sooner than you think! This December, Turbo Metal will make its debut and we truly hope you the listeners will feel it's been worth the wait - we certainly do.

Feels like the time is ripe for a newspost eh? Well here's what's happening. In the last couple of months everything that had been piling up during the last 6 years was finally set into motion in one fell swoop.
Basically, the band recorded a music video to the song Obsession off the upcoming album together with photographer/director extraordinaire Mårten Keijser (check out the pictures section for stills from the video!). This event proved to be the catalyst which would finally drive the project closer to completion. Shortly after wrapping up the aforementioned, Roman and Daniel began the mastering sessions which are pretty much complete save for the fact that the final sessions had to be postponed due to a case of swine flu. Yuck!
Parallel to this Vanya has been busy developing a kick-ass new website ensuring other stuff is being simultaneously so as to hasten the whole process. In the meantime however, the band refer fans to the official MySpace page, where they've just started a blog. The address you ask?

OLD NEWS
2005-02-03 Roman Karpovich started this project which, from the beginning, was Micke Ingelins idea. Neither of them could foresee the ferocity of the final product. The Russian language is aggressive, so why not??? Roman and his Russian suit each other and maybe Roman is simply a Mad Russian himself?

We are now done with the songwriting for our debut album which will contain 13 strong, reliable songs. We´ll start recording when the band is 100% tight and perfect!

The recording sessions have started! Roman is working day and night in the studio...
2006-11-01 Roman Karpovich & producer Daniel Papalexis started the auto-tuning company TurboBandit, forcing them to take time out from the studio in order to get the aforementioned project off the ground and to finally complete work on Romans car, with the latter to be used as a 600 horsepower mobile billboard on steroids

Like most things in life, nothing ever turns out as planned, and the ambitious projects mentioned above were certainly no exception! Despite the seemingly never ending delays, everything paid off in the end, the results of the hard work a fully functioning company, a Dyno-killing Car with a record breaking 650Hp/780Nm and Roman finally back on track with the his musical endeavour: Burlak

With 6 songs left to go and the debut album inching its way toward completion, the unthinkable has happened! Roman accidentally forgot to close the balcony door last night and ended up waking up in a concrete igloo with a sore throat! He is currently waiting for his health to improve before tackling the remaining tracks

One track left to record vocals for before the record is complete. What happens? The hard disk crashes, along with most of what’s been done during the past 9 months. What do you do? Yep, you guessed it. You start over.

Everything instrumental is done – just the vocals left at this point. Only small problem is the heating in the studio – or rather the lack thereof. Temperatures of -5 C see to it that not much can be done in the way of singing. The cheapskate solution? Take a little fan and kettle into the recording room and boil tea continuously!
